Generating Reports

Report Generation Options

The option you select in the Input data area of the Report Manager Input tab determines the manner in which you request report generation (see Specifying Input Data).

This table explains how to request report generation depending on the type of input data:

Option Procedure for Requesting Report Generation

Global report

  • From the menu bar, select becubicGlobal Reports Report Template List, where Report Template List is a list of all available non-contextual report templates.

The Report Manager globally launches the query that is specified in the Dynamic Fields tab and generates a single report.

If the report template is defined as a dashboard and the connected user has a role associated with it, the user can open it by selecting becubicDefault Dashboard Report(s) from the menu bar.

Query

  • From the menu bar, select becubicGlobal Reports Report Template List, where Report Template List is a list of all available non-contextual report templates.

The Report Manager launches the query that is chosen as input data in the report template definition and generates a report for each root object in the query results.

Set

  • From the menu bar, select becubicGlobal Reports Report Template List, where Report Template List is a list of all available non-contextual report templates.

The Report Manager generates a report for each object in the set that is chosen as input data in the report template definition.

Run contextually to objects of the type

  1. Select an object that belongs to the object class/subclass specified as input data in the report template definition. Use Type Browser or Quick Search to display objects of a desired type.
  2. From the menu bar, select becubicObjectTools Related ReportsReport Template List, where Report Template List is a list of all report templates available for the class of the selected object.
  3. Or

    Right-click and Select ToolsRelated Reports Report Template List.

The report is generated contextually to the selected object. You can select several objects and generate a report for each of them.

If the report template is defined as a landing page and the connected user has a role associated with it, the user can open it by selecting Open Landing Page on the shortcut menu.
