Consulting Object Properties

To open the Object Properties window for an object

  • Right-click an object in the right frame of the becubic Web main window, and select Properties on the shortcut menu. The Object Properties window opens:

The window has these tabs:

Tab

Contains

Attributes

All the attributes defined in the repository metamodel for this object.

References

All the references that this object is making to other objects (that is, all the output links from this object to other objects). Each row corresponds to the link defined in the metamodel where object classes are associated.

linkOrder indicates the relative position of the code line within the source file from which the links (and/or linked objects) have been generated. linkOrder is used to place objects in appropriate positions within flowcharts of query results. linkOrder is an internal system feature and is not intended for data browsing by users.

If a property has multiple attributes, a plus sign (+) appears. Click the plus sign to expand and view the values.

System

These system parameters:

ID: Unique numeric value identifying the object in the repository.
type: FQN–Fully Qualified Name–of the object type.

If the property (either a sourceLocation or a reference) has more than 10 values, only the number of values is shown.

  • Empty attributes and references are not shown unless you select the appropriate display option on the Profile window. See Show null values in standard property view.
  • If your becubic administrator has implemented business names, some or all of your becubic model elements (that is, object types, packages, attributes, and links) might have different names than those you will come across in this guide.
