Using a Welcome Panel

Each user has a specific Welcome Panel that can contain queries, links, reports, object sets, data propagation definitions, External Document objects, File objects, and individual objects. When you connect to a becubic repository, you display the Welcome Panel that is associated with your becubic login name.

Your becubic administrator can let you know the name of a private set that you can create—but only in the becubic Eclipse client—to customize your Welcome Panel with your own selection of existing repository objects.

The contents of your Welcome Panel are displayed in the Panel Navigation view. You open a Welcome Panel item by double-clicking it.

The Default Welcome Panel enables you to perform these actions:

Every query name in the Panel Navigation view is preceded by an icon that represents the default layout used to display query results. When you double-click a query name, the query results display in the right frame.
  • Classic Lineage Backward for Data Named—searches for the propagation path to the selected item.
  • Classic Lineage Forward for Data Named—searches for the propagation path from the selected item
  • Classic Propagation for Data Named—searches for all propagation paths for the mainframe environment (for example, COBOL programs). The propagation is executed globally.
  • Combined Propagation for Data Named—searches for all propagation paths using both classic and object orientated options. The propagation is executed globally.
  • OO Propagation for Data Named—searches for all propagation paths for the for the object-orientated environment. The propagation is executed globally.
