Set Contents View

The set contents view shows the objects in a set. It also shows the set’s Referenced or Aggregated sets.

To open the set contents view

  • Double-click a set in Set Browser.

Or  

In the Type Browser or in a query result view, display the becubic::administration::common::Set object that corresponds to the set whose contents you want to see, and double-click it.

If the set has been added to your Welcome Panel, you can double-click it there to open the set contents view.

Information on a Set

By default, the Set Contents view lists objects and Referenced or Aggregated sets in alphabetical order. You can sort and filter the list (see Sorting Set Contents and Filtering Set Contents).

An icon indicates the type of each object. For information about object type icons, see the ASG-CAE (Common Analysis Engine) Reference Guide.

object(s)

Number of objects in the set.

set(s)

Number of sets referenced or aggregated by the set.

Recursive content

Consolidated totals of the set and its referenced/aggregated sets:

Objects and sets are counted recursively when references and/or aggregations are defined at multiple levels.

Consolidated number of objects in a) the set b) its referenced/aggregated sets.

set(s)

Consolidated number of a) sets referenced/aggregated by the set b) sets referenced/aggregated by these referenced/aggregated sets.

Sorting Set Contents

By default, the contents of a set are displayed in the alphabetical order of their names. They also can be sorted by version dates (that is, the contents creation/last modification dates) or object types.

To change the sort option

1. In the set contents view, click Sort Options . The Sort Options dialog opens:

2. Click one of the sort criteria and click either Ascending or Descending.

This table describes all the options available on the Sort Options dialog:

Sort by name

Sorts the set contents by their name.

Sort by modification date

Sorts the set contents by their creation/last modification date.

Sort by type

Sorts the set contents by their type.

Sort by expression

Sorts the set contents by the value of any attribute that you specify as an XPath expression.

Ascending/
Descending

Displays the sort results in ascending or descending order.

3. Click OK.

Filtering Set Contents

You can apply a filter to a set contents list.

Filtering the set contents modifies only the display in the set contents view. The hidden objects remain members of the set.

To change the filter options

1. In the set contents view, click Filter Options . The Filter Options dialog opens:

 

2. If you want to filter by object type, select the Filter by object type check box, then follow these steps:
a. From the drop-down list, select either Only (that is, to display only the objects of the selected type) or Except (that is, to hide all the objects of the selected type).
b. Click Select Types. The Multiple type selection dialog opens:

c. Select all the object types you want to add in the Selected types list from the Matching types list.
You can use Ctrl+click for multiple selection and Shift+click to select a series of objects.
d. Click the arrows to select or deselect object types.
e. Click OK.
3. If you want to exclude object subtypes from your selection, click Without subtypes in the Filter Options dialog.
4. If you want to filter to the objects whose names contain a specific character string, select the Filter by name check box and enter a character string in the corresponding field.
5. Click OK.
The Information area shows the object and set counts of all the contents even if a filter is applied.
