Using Sets

Overview

In becubic, sets are object containers whose objects are stored in either the becubic repository or the federated repositories.

From the becubic Eclipse client or becubic Web, you can access and use both becubic repository sets and CAE entry point sets. In addition, you can use the Eclipse client to create sets in a federated repository.

Use object sets for these purposes:

  • Storing frequently consulted objects.
  • Within a set, you can store the results from a quick search or a query, or objects that you select in the Type Browser manually. This means you do not have to redo the same operations every time you want to consult or use them.
  • As a starting point for an operation (for example, contextually running a query from a preselected object or generating a report on each object in a set).
  • Comparing the results of several different queries.

becubic can perform operations on sets (that is, union, intersection, and subtraction).

There are becubic system sets such as those associated with the Welcome Panels or those of the APM feature. See the ASG-becubic System Administrator’s Guide for information about creating and editing Welcome Panels and the ASG-becubic Designer’s Guide for information about using sets with the APM feature.
