Using the Entry Point Tools

An entry point is the schema that corresponds to a specific database user. Each entry point is dedicated to a specific analysis project, so that you can organize multiple analysis projects within a single database.

You use the entry point tools of Manager in these situations:

<<<<<<< HEAD

When ASG Customer Support explicitly requests you to create a entry point. (See Creating a CAE Entry Point.)

When you want to initialize a entry point on an empty schema. (See Initializing a CAE Entry Point on an Empty Schema.)

When ASG Customer Support explicitly requests you to update a entry point. (See Updating a CAE Entry Point.)

When ASG Customer Support explicitly requests you to delete a entry point. (See Deleting a CAE Entry Point.)

When you want to export a entry point. (See Exporting a CAE Entry Point.)

When you want to import a entry point. (See Importing a CAE Entry Point.)

When you want to import a entry point on an empty schema. (See Importing a CAE Entry Point on an Empty Schema.)

When ASG Customer Support explicitly requests you to convert an existing entry point sources to UTF-8. (See Converting CAE Entry Point Sources to UTF-8.)

On some windows, the Next button appears greyed out until you select a connection (i.e., either a database or an entry point) in the left frame compatible with the action you are taking.
The database connection information fields differ depending on the DBMS that you use (i.e., Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server). Notably, connection settings for Microsoft SQL Server contain an option specific to the single sign-on (SSO) implementation. See the for details.
