Administrative Components

Overview

Metability allows you to access and analyze the data stored in any Rochade repository. In addition, it provides these administrative components to enable you to organize the repository and to control and optimize access to its data:

  • Repository-related administrative components:
    • Server Administration: Use to administer servers, create and mount databases, show logging information, and collect performance statistics. To know more, see Server Administration.
    • User Administration: Use to define repository users and database access. To know more, see User Administration.
    • Model Administration: Use to define the structure of the data stored in the repository. To know more, see Model Administration.
    • Subject Area Administration: Use to create subject areas, assign users to the subject areas, and display subject area information. To know more, see Subject Area Administration.
  • Metability Administration: Use to set global and user-specific preferences, enable or disable particular features of Metability, and grant users access to administrative functions. To know more, see Metability Administration.

The repository-related administrative components are available to all users who have been assigned the pertinent administrative rights. Metability Administration, however, is available only to the leader of the Metability control subject area (that is, the Metability administrator). During the Metability installation an Rochade administrator account (for example, ADMIN) is already created and assigned as leader to the Metabilty control subject area. For details about creating further administrator accounts, see Granting Users Administrative Access.
