Mounting and Unmounting Databases

To mount a database

1. Open the Server Databases view. The Unmounted Databases of Server <connection name> panel lists the databases that have not yet been mounted:

2. Click the Mount hyperlink for the database that you want to mount.

The selected database is mounted immediately.

You can also create a new database, edit an already mounted database, and remove the mounted database from the options available under Allowed Actions section of Unmounted Databases of Server Admin connection area.

To unmount a database

1. Open the Server Databases view.
2. On the Databases of Server <connection name> panel, click the Unmount hyperlink for the database that you want to unmount.

The selected database is unmounted immediately.

The unmount operation fails if the database has been opened already. You can start Server Administration in exclusive mode to prevent databases from being opened (to know more, see Starting Server and User Administration in exclusive mode).
