Removing Item Types

There are two ways of removing an item type:

• Detaching an item type: The item type is no longer available in the information model from which it is detached, but can still be used by other information models.
• Deleting an item type: The item type is deleted from the database and is no longer available for any information model.

To detach item types from a model

1. In the Model Editor, select the item types that you want to detach from the model and then ModelDetach from the main menu.

Or  

Select the item types and then click the Detach Types from the Model icon in the local toolbar of the Model Editor.

Or  

Right-click the item types and then select Detach from the context menu.

The item types are detached immediately.

To delete item types

2. In the Model Editor, select the item types you want to delete and then ModelDelete from the main menu.

Or  

Select the item types and then click the Detach Types from the Model and Delete Them icon in the local toolbar of the Model Editor.

Or  

Right-click the item types and then select Delete from the context menu.

3. Confirm the deletion.
