The Function of the Administration Database

The ADB is used for Rochade-internal authentication and for user authorization. It stores Rochade user accounts and roles:

  • DI Server uses the accounts for the following purposes.
    • Authenticating users
    • Assigning privileges
    • Controlling access rights to the repository
  • Roles grant users access to the items within the repository and specify which operations they can perform on them.

ASG recommends that you set up and activate an ADB. It is a prerequisite for access rights verification, even when using external authentication. For details, see Activating and Deactivating the ADB.
