The Metability Dataspace

To define Metability’s access to DI Servers and databases, you must configure a Metability dataspace. The dataspace enables you to perform these tasks:

  • To specify the DI Servers and databases that are to be available for use in Metability.
  • To specify access to the Metability control data, which are stored in the Metability control subject area in one of the Rochade databases.

The configuration data for the dataspace are stored in an XML file, to which this guide refers as the dataspace file. The first-time installation uses the default name dataspace.xml for the file, but you can change its name in your installation.

The dataspace file is created during the application installation of Metability with configuration data as known at that time. For details, see the ASG-Metability Installation Guide. By default, the file is stored in the appl subdirectory of the Rochade data directory (for example, C:\ProgramData\Rochade), but you can also store it on a network drive that is accessible to the intended clients. Make sure that the file is protected by setting appropriate access rights.
