Introduction

GlobalSearch is a Web-based search engine for metadata that are stored in Enterprise Data Intelligence (herein called EDI). These are the product’s main features:

• Uses Apache Solr to search an index of EDI metadata that enables it to find relevant information in a quick and efficient manner.

• Provides search categories and detail views to narrow down search results and to display additional information about the items in search results.
• Resolves links and namespace relationships between items in EDI to support navigating between related items directly in the GlobalSearch interface.
