Using Password Managers

Credential information can be managed using an external password manager system. Using a password manager on a company-wide level allows for central management and tracking of credentials and their usage. When creating or updating a login, the user can reference the credential entry in the password manager. When the task is run and the credentials are needed, the credentials will be retrieved from the external password manager.

Before a password manager can be used, it must be configured and enabled in the settings under AuthoringSettingsPassword Manager.

Login definitions that support external lookup of credentials will have an ellipsis on the right side of the field in the login definition screen as shown below

When the user clicks on the ellipsis, The Password Manager Properties dialog will be displayed where the user will enter the information where the credentials can be found.
