Agent Scripting Methods

The Agent scripting methods are available on the agent for these scripting services:

  • Script Task
  • Script Dependency
  • Script Event

  • Shell Script

  • Shell Script Dependency

  • Shell Script Event

  • The scripting methods explained in this chapter can be used for the pre/post script definition. See Defining System Command Tasks for more information.
  • Some methods only apply to specific services (e.g., SendEvent is not applicable for a Script Task).

  • Shell Script services using PowerShell scripting language are only available with the .NET agent

  • Shell Script services using BashShell scripting language are only available with the Platform Agent

  • Shell Scripting services require a leading "$" for the item method’
