Determine SAP Server Information
Scenarios: All document types using RFC communication.
Where: From a workstation running SAPGUI.
When: During initial installation.
This step determines the following information about the SAP servers directly involved with archiving:

Host name or IP address, and service name of the SAP gateway |
|
•
|
SAP router string of the SAP gateway, if a SAP router is part of your installation |

•
|
Host name or IP address of the SAP application server |
To determine the required SAP information
|
1.

Run transaction SMGW in SAPGUI. |
|
2.
|
Select Goto Parameters Display. |
|
3.
|
Scroll down past the Attributes heading and locate the gateway hostname and gateway service parameters, as shown in the below figure. |

4.

Write the values for the gateway host name and gateway service parameters in the Implementation Worksheet. |

6.
|
Select the application server. |
|
7.
|
Click Properties. The Properties dialog box opens. |
|
8.
|
Write the SAP router string (if there is a router string), the host name or IP address of the SAP application server, and the system number in the Implementation Worksheet. |
