Determine SAP Server Information

Scenarios: All document types using RFC communication.

Where: From a workstation running SAPGUI.

When: During initial installation.

This step determines the following information about the SAP servers directly involved with archiving:

•

Host name or IP address, and service name of the SAP gateway

•

SAP router string of the SAP gateway, if a SAP router is part of your installation

•

Host name or IP address of the SAP application server

To determine the required SAP information

1.

Run transaction SMGW in SAPGUI.

2.

Select Goto } Parameters } Display.

3.

Scroll down past the Attributes heading and locate the gateway hostname and gateway service parameters, as shown in the below figure.

Write the values for the gateway host name and gateway service parameters in the Implementation Worksheet.

Open SAP Logon.

6.

Select the application server.

7.

Click Properties. The Properties dialog box opens.

8.

Write the SAP router string (if there is a router string), the host name or IP address of the SAP application server, and the system number in the Implementation Worksheet.
