Working with Trees

Reports in a tree format are well suited for displaying the results of Item Environment queries, which are concerned with the relationships between items (see Item Environment Queries).

Metability provides two versions of the tree format: relationship trees and item tables. Both formats are similar in appearance, with the exception that, where relationship trees focus more on the relationships, item tables focus more on the items.

Relationship trees, by default, present their information in a single column for the item type and name, and a second column for the relationship’s source attribute. Item tables, however, present their information in separate columns for item type and name. They do not display information about a relationship’s source attribute.

Report Created by Show Item in Relationship Tree and Report Created by Show Item in Item Table show the difference between the tree formats.
