Installing Agents
This topic provides instructions for installing an Agent.
Implementation Overview
ASG-Enterprise Orchestrator™ provides several types of agents for hosting dependency and event monitors as well as executing scheduled tasks.
Platform Agent is the principal Java-based, cross-platform agent. Generally, ASG recommends that you install and use the Platform Agent for most of your distributed workload processing. If you have particular requirements that are not handled by this Agent, additional agents are available (and can be implemented instead or in combination).

Platform Agent |
This is a Java-based, cross-platform agent. Generally, ASG recommends that you install and use the Platform Agent for most of your distributed workload processing. See Agent Requirements (Cross-platform) for supported platforms and system requirements. See Installing the Platform Agent for installation instructions. |

z/OS Agent |
The z/OS agent extends your AEO processing to the z/OS mainframe by enabling you to create z/OS dataset events and dependencies, send system commands and submit jobs to z/OS, restart jobs, and use job step condition codes to control processing within a job or AEO process. Windows Agent |
This agent provides specialized support for particular types of tasks associated with Microsoft .NET Framework. See Installing Windows Agent for installation instructions. |
