Defining Multi-Language Support for Databases

Rochade databases can contain items that have content in multiple languages. You can specify the available languages for a database and set a default language.

To specify the languages for a database and set a default language

  1. In the Administration tree, select the database node and then ServerDefine Multi-Language Support from the main menu.
  2. Or  

    Right-click the node and then select Define Multi-Language Support from the context menu.

  3. From the Supported languages list, select the languages that you want to enable for the database and then click Add.
  4. From the Assigned languages list, select the languages that you want to remove from the database and then click Detach.
  5. From the Default language drop-down list, select the default language for the database.
  6. Click OK to save the language assignments.

Prerequisite to Store Items with Multi-language

Before you can store items with multi-language contents in a database, you also must complete the following steps:

  1. Specify the available languages for your information models. To know more, see Defining Multi-Language Support for Information Models.
  2. Define item types and attributes that support multi-language contents. To know more, see Working on Item Types.
