Local Toolbars
The content of local toolbars varies depending on the view to which they belong.
Repository Tree Toolbar
The icons in the Repository Tree toolbar enable you to navigate in the repository tree view.
The table lists the icons available in the Repository Tree toolbar.

Available when a Go into command has been issued previously. Goes back to Metability Explorer, which is the top level in the navigation tree. |

Available when a Go into command has been issued before. Goes one level higher (that is, this level becomes visible again). |

Go Into |
Available when an entity that has a lower level available is selected (for example, a database that contains a subject area). Makes that lower level the top level; higher levels are no longer visible. |

Reload Repository Connections |
First disconnects from and then reconnects to, the repository server. |
|
Arrange Subject Areas by Server and Database |
Inserts nodes for servers and databases between the Metability Explorer level and the subject area level; otherwise, these levels are hidden. |

Opens the local drop-down menu, containing the other commands listed in this table. |
Item List View Toolbar
The icons in the Item List View toolbar enable you to navigate in the item lists and to work with them.

Customize Columns |
Opens the Customize Columns dialog, which lets you select the columns that should be displayed. |

Previous item |
Displays the previous item in the item list in the Editor frame. |

Opens the Search for Items dialog, where you can add items to the item list (see Search for Items). |

Detach Items/ Relationships |
Detaches items and/or relationships from the item list (but not from the database). |

Clear Item List |
Clears the item list (that is, removes all items from the list). |

(Edit mode switch) |
Lets you switch between opening items in edit mode and in browse mode. |

Navigation Tree Toolbar
The icons in the Navigation Tree enable you to navigate in the navigation tree view and to control its display properties.
The table lists the icons available in the Navigation Tree toolbar.

Go Into |
Available when an entity that has a lower level available is selected (for example, an item type with valid items). Makes that lower level the top level; higher levels are no longer visible. |

Collapse All |
Collapses all expanded branches that are visible in the current level. |

Enable Sort |
Sorts the listed entries. |
|
Link with Object Selection |
Specifies that whenever an item gets the focus in the Editor frame, that item automatically gets the focus in the navigation tree, too. |

Stop Loading Data |
Interrupts the process of loading items; when an item type with many items is expanded, this can take a substantial amount of time. |
|
Refresh Data |
Refreshes the navigation tree from the database. |
|
Filter Items |
Opens the Filter Items dialog, which is explained in detail in Filtering Items. |
|
(Search string field) |
Limits the visible items when a search string is entered. The search string can contain wildcards. |
|
View Menu |
Opens the local drop-down menu. Its commands correspond exactly to the other local toolbar commands listed in this table. |
Other View Toolbars
Most of the other views in Metability (that is, those that usually reside in the Output frame) also have their local toolbars.
Contents View Toolbar
The Contents view displays a list of items found in a report. Its local toolbar icons enable you to work with items in reports.
The table lists the icons available in the Contents view toolbar.

Outline View Toolbar
The Outline view displays the properties of a report. The local toolbar provides commands to arrange these properties and to reset them to their default values.

Progress View Toolbar
The Progress view displays the status of running tasks and enables you to cancel the tasks. The local toolbar provides commands for specifying which tasks should be displayed.

Remove All Finished Operations |
Removes all finished tasks that have remained in the Progress view. Usually not needed, since finished tasks are removed automatically. |

View Menu |
Opens the local drop-down menu. It contains the commands Remove All Finished Tasks (listed above) and Preferences, which lets you specify whether sleeping tasks and system tasks should also be displayed. |
Properties View Toolbar
The Properties view displays the properties of entities. The entity can be an item that is selected in the navigation tree or in a report, an item that is displayed in an editor or browse view, or a relationship that is selected in a diagram. The local toolbar provides commands for arranging these properties.

Internal Web Browser View Toolbar
The Internal Web Browser view can be used to display Web pages in Metability. Its local toolbar contains commands for URL navigation.
