Upgrade ASG-Studio

This section explains how to upgrade your current version of ASG-Studio to a higher version. The latest version released and available for upgrade is ASG-Studio 6.3.

The following upgrade paths are supported:

  • ASG-Studio 6.1.2 to ASG-Studio 6.3
  • ASG-Studio 6.1.1 to ASG-Studio 6.3
  • ASG-Studio 6.1 to ASG-Studio 6.3
  • ASG-Studio 6.0 to ASG-Studio 6.3

Upgrade from ASG-Studio 6.0 to ASG-Studio 6.3

If you are upgrading from ASG-Studio 6.0 to 6.3, you must uninstall your current version of ASG-Studio and installASG-Studio 6.3.

Before uninstalling your previous version of ASG-Studio, you must export all the projects that you need. You can import these projects into your latest version of ASG-Studio and continue to design them.

Upgrade from ASG-Studio 6.1 or 6.1.1 or 6.1.2 to ASG-Studio 6.3

If you are currently using ASG-Studio 6.1 or 6.1.1 or 6.1.2, you can directly upgrade to ASG-Studio 6.3 without uninstalling your current version. All your projects in ASG-Studio will be accessible after upgrading to 6.3. You do not need to export and import the projects.

The upgrade procedure will overwrite the installation files. If you have modified default configuration settings in your earlier version of ASG-Studio, you must manually copy those changes to new version of ASG-Studio. So it is recommended to create a back-up of installation files that you have modified in your previous version of ASG-Studio.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Open ASG-Studio Manager and click Stop.
  2. Click Advanced and verify that all the services are stopped.
  3. Close ASG-Studio Manager after all the services are stopped.
  4. Right click ASG Studio Manager icon in system try and click Exit. Alternatively, you can stop ASG Studio Manager form Task Manager.
  5. Run Asg_Studio.exe as administrator.
  6. Click Yes, if User Account Control (UAC) consent prompts.
  7. Click Update.
  8. Review the terms of license, select the I accept the license agreement checkbox and click Next.
  9. Click Done when you see the message STUDIO has been successfully installed.
  10. If you have modified default configuration settings in the installation files in your previous version of ASG-Studio, manually copy those changes to the installation files in new version of ASG-Studio.
  11. Double click ASG.StudioManager shortcut on your desktop and click Start in ASG-Studio Manager.

    12. ASG-Studio is upgraded and you can continue designing your applications.
